As I sat down to write this blog to you, I reflected on a conversation that I had with my niece about relationships. We talked about how we (created beings) have within us an inborn desire for God. How do I know this you might ask, well it is because God told us in Genesis 2:7 “Then the Lord God formed man from the ground and breathed into his nostril’s the breath of life, and the man became a living being” So, God’s pneuma (breath/spirit) was placed in us when he created us.
Did you know when you are attracted to a believer of God, as a mate or friend, etc. that you are attracted to the God in them? Even more, did you notice a difference about the way you felt towards that individual when they were not reflecting the inward attributes that attracted you to them in the beginning? That is because your inner man is longing for the pneuma that God has placed in that person (God’s presence). We are searching for it because our inner man automatically needs it and was designed to desire God.
So, something for you to think about…. when conflict rise up, between you and that person you are attracted to I want to suggest to you that it is because one of you are not reflecting the Fruit of The Spirit (Godliness), “But, the fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control… (Galatians 5:22-23),”. If these attributes are not being exhibited, it causes the arguments, disagreements and unnecessary turmoil in the relationships.
Another note, you will find yourself dealing with too much nonsense because you are actually looking for God and you are unknowingly searching in the wrong place for God’s Spirit. I would suggest that you do not look for God in man as man will fail you time after time. But look to Elohim, our creator, he has everything you are searching for and more.
Psalm 121:1,2 says” “I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth. (KJV)
Look to his Word and you will find what you are wanting, cry out to ABBA Father and tell him what (he already know) your desire and keep at it until he answers you. Your spirit will feel at peace when you have the answer to your petition. I tell you he will fulfill that crave because it was him that placed it in us anyway. His desire is for you to WANT him! He is head over hills about you! Don’t you think that was a clever design he placed in us on purpose? He longs to have a relationship with you. That is why most of us feel a void and desire to have relations with another… Do not get me wrong, relationships are good and God’ designed us to have relationships from the beginning of time. But there is nothing more important than our relationship with GOD!

This song makes me think about the inward desire to want to be in relationship with God, because at the end of the day, nothing else will do…
The Take-aways from this blog is:
1- Recognize that what you are searching for in another person is only satisfying when you get it from God.
2- Get to know how much God’s adores you by reading his love letters to you. (The Bible)
3- Open your heart and allow him to pour into you more of his fruit and watch how your relationship with others transform.
