Broken Doors, Damaged Doors, Closed Doors, Blocked Doors, Locked Doors, Open Doors, Sliding Doors, New Doors,
Reflecting over the past year (2020) on into this new year, I took noticed that I had been having a recurring theme about doors that has been going on in my life up until this month -February. I did not get a full revelation about this until I sat down and started to write this blog. Doors – Life – Seasons?!
Just a little history to bring you up-to-speed about my Door’s experience and what led me to write about it. Last year, my husband and I were staying in an apartment in Texas. We left NJ and moved there to do outreach ministry. This was a fairly modernized apartment in the entertainment district of Arlington. One evening, as I was washing the dishes, I noticed that the kitchen cabinet doors started to become loose and began to fall off the hinges. The bottom cabinets, where I kept the pots and the cabinets under my sink followed suit. I kept trying to put them back in place until they eventually fell completely off. Then, a week or so later, the bathroom cabinets doors repeated what had happened in the kitchen. These DOORS were damaged, dry rot and needed to be replaced. We called the maintenance and put in work order tickets and to no avail it was never resolved. Then thinking about it later, I kid you not, my hall closet door fell off and second bedroom door would not close.
We already knew our lease was coming to an end and our time in Texas was coming to an end also, so we did not push the issue with the maintenance. Towards the end of 2020, I moved back into our home in New Jersey after being away for two years. Upon returning home, here we go again with the DOORS. I had my son put up new sliding doors with a lock to keep my granddaughter from walking in and out of my home office; my grandson (8 years old who lives with me) moved into his own room and now locks his door. Lastly, just this past week, I had a contractor come to install 3 new bedroom doors and 1 bathroom door, because we needed some remodeling done.
Okay -I say to myself there is a serious theme about doors going on here (spiritual and physical). What is going on Lord? Of course, He answer’s me through His Word. Various passages of scripture the Holy Spirit brought to my mind as I was meditating and trying to get an understanding the doors situations. So, I will share these insights with you.
Eccl 3:3-8. The Doors here is relating to a time and a season for everything! Open, closing, broken, build up… etc.…. King Solomon says is so profoundly below in (Ecclesiastes 3:1-8)
3 To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
2 A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;
3 A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;
4 A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
5 A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
6 A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;
7 A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
8 A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.
Also, doors of emotional pain, hurt and distrust, weakness and harassment by our enemies: Zechariah 4:6 (KJV) helps us in these areas.
“6 Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the Lord unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the Lord of hosts. Not by might, not power, but your spirit Lord.” So, in reading that and gaining an understanding we see that we need not to be tough, strong, unbending and harsh with people or situations in our lives. God will handle everything for us. Not by our might, nor our own power, but by God’s Holy Spirit anything can be accomplished as we live for God.
When We are Obedient to His Word and Faithful to Him: The Book of Revelation displays the outcome of this: Revelation 3:7-8 – The Obedient Church (OPEN AND CLOSED DOORS)
“And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write: He who is holy, who is true, who has the key of David, who opens, and no one will shut, and who shuts and no one opens, says this: ‘I know your deeds.
Behold, I have put before you an open door which no one can shut, because you have a little power, and have kept My word, and have not denied My name. (The “Keys of David” represents Christ’s authority to open the door of invitation into His future Kingdom.) After the door is open, no one can close it- salvation is assured. Once it is closed, no one can open it- judgment is certain.
Isaiah 22:22 (NLT) “I will give him the key to the house of David—the highest position in the royal court. When he opens doors, no one will be able to close them; when he closes doors, no one will be able to open them.”
So, what is our Father saying to us in these passages? No matter what is going on in our lives: Work, Health, Family: recognize that God has our backs! We need to turn ALL situations over to Jesus, stay in His Word, trust that he will bring you through all manner of sickness, diseases, burden, trials, and temptation of this life. (Psalm 55:22)
“He hath made everything beautiful in his time: also, He hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the works that God maketh from the beginning to the end. (Ecclesiastes 3:11).”
There are many Take-A-Ways from this blog and I have listed other scriptures below and things for you to think about when you have DOORS experiences in your life. Stay encouraged and focus on GOD (Elohim) who created all things in Heaven and Earth! Love you all with the Love of Jesus who is the DOOR! – JESUS 😊
9 I am the door: by me if any man enters in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.
